Nia Sweet

My role is to manage the internal and external financial reporting for the Good Energy group. This involves overseeing the monthly consolidation process and the preparation of the annual report and statutory accounts. I also manage the financial audit process and the relationships with our external auditors and tax advisors.

I am a qualified ICAEW chartered accountant with a first class degree in Accounting & Management from Reading University. I spent the first four years of my career working as an auditor at Azets, an accountancy and business advisory services firm. During this time, I gained knowledge and experience in auditing companies across a variety of sectors including manufacturing, technology, professional services and not-for-profits. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, I moved from accountancy practice into industry, and I worked as a management accountant at TSB Bank in Bristol before joining Good Energy in March 2022.

My advice for candidates applying for a role at Good Energy is to familiarise yourself on the links between your experience and the job description and focus on your strengths to demonstrate where you can add value. I would recommend doing as much research as you can on the company and don’t be afraid to ask questions – the renewable energy industry is complex and there is no such thing as a silly question.
